Side Hustle Summary – October 2018

side hustle summary

Another month is in the bag & here we are again with another Side Hustle Summary!

This is where I detail all the extra income made in the month, aside from investing & working the 9-5.

I’m grateful for October – it brought the highest amount of side hustle income since April!

Let’s see how…

So I got my very first referral on Property Partner (click here to be my second!) and it was a whopping £30. Receiving this felt great as there was no risk and no effort. I see why hardcore referral marketers go so hard at what they do!

The other £2 was from the Halifax reward. As long as I stay in credit, pay in £750 & have 2 active direct debits they will credit my account £2. it used to be £5 per month then £3 per month. By next year it will likely be £0.50.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time, happy hustling!

Side Hustle Summary – May 18

It’s now July so that can only mean 1 thing, time for the (late) Side Hustle Summary for May!

This is where I detail all the extra income made in the month, aside from investing & working the 9-5.

Let’s have ourselves a look at where the cash flowed in from.

Clearly, not the strongest month that I’ve ever had. However, this is £309.20 that I would not have earned otherwise. So, of course, I’m grateful.

I continued to make some easy BTC from Earn.com which is fantastic news as things aren’t going too well for Bitcoin & crypto in general right now.

eBay Sales

£2.75 was made on eBay but it’s a lot less than I expected. Sadly.

I managed to pick up 10 Blu-ray DVD’s for £10. My thinking was that I could make a tidy little profit of £20 by auctioning them to the movie-hungry horde.

I set up listings for 3 of the better movies to shift on eBay. They all sold, just not at a tidy price, if you know what I mean.

side hustle summary

After calculating fees etc. the profit didn’t even reach £1 per disc. Further sales have been put on hold, indefinitely. £20 profit is not happening any time soon.

When I bought the Blu-rays, I was told that I was wasting my time by doubters. Seems like there were right, but I had to find out for myself. It was a useful exercise which showed that my path to wealth probably won’t come about by selling movies on eBay.

Conclusion

An insightful month. Clearly, there has to be more thoughtfulness with my side hustling. No regrets, though! I still brought in good income elsewhere.

I hope May (& June) went well with your side hustles. If you have any eBay tips, please share them immediately!

Later than expected, here is The Side Hustle Summary for April!

What can I say about the delay? Simply, poor time management 🙁

Side Hustle Summary – December 17

The festive season was awfully hectic and I’m sure I set new records for the amount of food and drink I got through.

However, I still managed to hustle on the side to bring in extra income so I can make extra investments.

Let’s see if all those mince pies slowed the side hustle down.

Yay – I broke the 1k mark!

It’s a warm feeling to reach this milestone in just a few months of starting these summaries. It feels even better that it was achieved in December, the month that’s meant to be for extra spending, not extra earning!

lets delve a little deeper to see how this was done:

Work, work, work

My part-time job as a catering manager at sporting event venues brang in most of the income in December. The casual nature of the contract means that I can work when I chose to work. If I don’t wish to work… then you already know what will happen.

It can swing both ways, If management decide that they don’t need me then they don’t have to offer me work. But I have built my reputation in this sector for over 10 years now so I am often called upon.

Another benefit of working on a casual contract is that I get holiday pay, instead of annual leave. Some of this holiday pay was cashed in for December which helped to boost my total for December.

My 1st sale!

Another milestone; I sold my Nintendo Classic Mini Super NES.

To be honest, I shouldn’t be bragging. As you can see I made  only £10 profit (bought for £70 and sold for £80).

As I found out extra stock was coming for Mini SNES’, I went for the quick sell to a friend.

Hopefully this is just the start of a long, prosperous side hustle.

side hustle

Elsewhere, I struggled to get anything from Task360 and I got waaay less than I normally get for the Job Spotter app. I’ll blame the cold weather and busy schedule for now.

Decembers result has me overly excited for the side hustle in 2018. I’m sure most months won’t be this successful but it’s definitely something to aim towards.

Please let me know of any easy side hustles I should be doing this year. All suggestions welcome!
